Ms. Gloria

Every day something happens in New York. Very often something good, but very rarely right in front of your studio. Today in front of our studio there was a street co-naming event. Our East 32nd Street and Third Avenue became "Ms Magazine Way" because Ms. Magazine was established in our building. Actually on the same floor where my studio is (appropriately marked in pink).
The first publisher and editor of the magazine, Gloria Steinem gave a speech and helped unveil the name of the street. That gave me a chance to talk to Gloria and take a picture with her. For me this was quite special because Gloria was one of the first people whom I met in 1986 when I came to New York. Through these years we have seen each other from time to time, but this was something quite special.

Out on the street

We just got a few photographs of the poster I designed for the play Einstein's Dreams by The Yugoslav Drama Theater in Belgrade, Serbia.

Omg now I am a part of academia

I just got a new book Jolted Images: Unbound Analytic (Eastern European Screen Cultures). It's a serious academic book written by Pavle Levi, Associate Professor of Film and Media Studies in the Department of Art and Art History at Stanford University.

"Jolted Images brings together a large cast of mainstream and avant-garde cineastes, artists, photographers, comics creators, poets, and more, to reflect on a wide range of phenomena from the realms of cinema and visual culture in the Yugoslav region, broader Europe, and North America. Far from a staid monograph, the book takes a cue from filmmaker Dušan Makavejev, who once wrote that there are times when it is necessary "to jolt art, no matter what the outcome"; to that end, the book infuses its analysis with playful, creative transfiguration of the material at hand."

I am especially honored not only because my work is on the cover of the book, but also because there is a mentioning of me in the book.

AIAXAIA car

You can't have a luxury yacht, without a luxury car.

That's why, after we designed the identity for AIAXAIA luxury sailing yacht, we were asked to do a wrap design for the AIAXAIA car, a Ferrari 458 Challenge that competes in one-make racing also known as spec racing in North America.
