Film Poster Collection Show

I just found out that my The 50th Annual Golden Globe Awards poster from 1993 is part of the show Selection of Film Posters from the Print Collection at the National and University Library in Zagreb, Croatia.

Unfortunately, it seems that the National and University Library in Zagreb doesn't have two of my favorite designs for movie posters Who's singing over there and Red and Black.

Covered "Head to Toe"

Steve Heller's and my new book Head to Toe: The Nude in Graphic Design, published by Rizzoli,
is currently printing in Hong Kong and it’s gonna come out in April. The book is already announced by Amazon: https://goo.gl/DNTXYQ

"A first-of-its-kind celebration featuring more than 600 examples of the human body as represented in graphic design, this innovative book will appeal to art directors, graphic designers, and design fans. This groundbreaking volume investigates and illuminates a new generation of artists and the ways that they relate to one of art history’s most storied traditions: nude figure drawing and painting. This informative (and occasionally very cheeky) book demonstrates the ways in which new mediums and new technologies are pushing graphic designers to previously untold heights of artistic representation, thereby cementing the graphic designer’s place alongside more traditional mediums (drawing, painting) in art history and criticism."

Slipcase, cover, and the book were designed by my studio. Cover and slipcase photography by Zeljko Koprolcec. Typography used in the book is Fedra Sans by Nikola Djurek (Typonine).

Donation to MoMA

A few pictures from today's visit to Thinking Machines: Art and Design in the Computer Age, 1959-1989 show that opened at MoMA (The Museum of Modern Art, New York) on November 13th.

I'm very happy to let you know that one of my gifts to MoMA, Paul Rand's IBM Supply Kit from 1979 is part of the show. What makes me even more happier is that the poster Tendencije 4 by my old friend, a Croatian designer Ivan Picelj (1924-2011) is also part of the show.

Workshop at FH JOANNEUM

Students from the Institute of Design & Communication, part of FH JOANNEUM University of Applied Sciences in Graz, Austria, just put up a little poster show at their school. The show is a result of our poster workshop titled Social Issues that was held on October 30th, 2017.

The Communication Design majors did a great job, especially considering the workshop lasted
only one day.

The workshop was made possible thanks to the amazing effort of Tomislav Bobinec.

Tadanori Yokoo Essay

I was surprised and honored when Tadanori Yokoo recently asked me to write an essay about him for the new issue of IDEA magazine, one of the most respectable graphic design magazines in the world. The new issue is titled Recent Works of Tadanori Yokoo Since 2010.

For those of you who are not very familiar with graphic design, Tadanori Yokoo and Milton Glaser
are the most recognized and celebrated designers of our time.

Sinner Comes Back Home

Last week, after not seeing each other for 40 years, I saw Jose Munoz again at the opening of his show HISTORIETAS: A Constellation of Meanings at the Scott Eder Gallery.
And I got this two beautiful dedications in my favorite episodes of Alack Sinner which he created with the writer Carlos Sampayo.
