"Presenting Shakespeare" to be mentioned in The New York Times

On March 28, Theater for a New Audience (home to Trevor Nunn’s production of “Pericles”) and Princeton Architectural Press will host a free discussion about poster design for Shakespeare’s works, pegged to “Presenting Shakespeare: 1,100 Posters from Around the World,” a hefty compendium of artwork from 55 countries. The most striking posters in the book are the brainy minimalists, like the giant gloved and clenched fist in a French production of “Othello,” or the deliciously morbid meat ice cream cone in an Argentine “Hamlet.” The discussion will be led by Mirko Ilic and Steven Heller, the book’s authors, and feature the graphic designers Milton Glaser and Paul Davis."

TFANA (Theatre for a New Audience) just announced on their website that on Monday March 28 at 7pm there will be an event celebrating Steven Heller and my new book "Presenting Shakespeare: Posters from Around the World":
"Join us for an onstage conversation on the art of designing posters for Shakespeare. This event celebrates the new book Presenting Shakespeare: 1,100 Posters from Around the World, published by Princeton Architectural Press.
The book’s authors, Mirko Ilic and Steven Heller, will lead a conversation with legendary graphic designers Milton Glaser (Theatre for a New Audience) and Paul Davis (The Public Theater), who will show examples of their iconic work. The discussion will be followed by an audience Q&A and a Presenting Shakespeare book signing."

United Nations Post Stamps
I just designed and illustrated six post stamps for the UN's postal administration. The Art Director for these stamps is Sergio Baradat. The subject of the post stamps is "HeForShe". Read more about what that means here:
"UN WOMEN – HeForShe Gender inequality is one of the most persistent human rights violations of our time. Despite many years of promoting gender equality, inequalities among women/girls and men/boys continue to manifest in egregious ways around the world. HeForShe is a solidarity movement for gender equality developed by UN Women (the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women). Its goal is to engage men and boys as advocates and agents of change for the achievement of gender equality and women’s rights. The campaign encourages them to speak out and take action against inequalities faced by women and girls. Gender equality is not only a women’s issue, it is a human rights issue that affects all of us - women and girls, men and boys. We all benefit socially, politically and economically from gender equality in our everyday lives. When women are empowered, the whole of humanity benefits.
