I acquired these manga original page exclusively because of the dynamic of the last frame. Especially nicely represented in the left leg of the person in the black suit.
This is page from Ai to Fukushuu no Banka (Eternal song of love and revenge) Crime Yakuza story published in Weekly Manga Sunday in 2003 and drawn by Kanzaki Junji.

Boys from Sarajevo
A few days ago I posted this photo of boys from Sarajevo by Bernard Pierre Wolff taken in 1967 asking the question "Where are they now, who they are, and what happened to them in the Bosnian war?"
My question was answered by Sead Kresevljakovic from Al Jazeera Balkans. Sead went to the neighborhood in the photo and found the brother of one of the boys, and was given most of their names: Nebi Ramani, Dzevad Tukic, Fuad, Semsudin Heco, Dzevad, Sabahudin including the name of his brother Kemal Imsirpasic (far left with truck). Unfortunately Kemal was killed in the War.

Two more photographs by Bernard Pierre Wolff
I acquired two more photographs by Bernard Pierre Wolff, most known by his photography for album cover 'Closer', by Joy Division from 1980.
These two photos were taken in 1967 in Bosnia, Yugoslavia. One is a photo of children in Sarajevo and the other one of a boy somewhere in Bosnia.
These kids are my generation. When one sees theses faces one cannot but question where are they now and what happened to them in the Bosnian war.

"Cabaret" by Wiktor Gorka
In my recent Polish poster acquisition, I also bought this iconic poster for the movie, Cabaret, designed by Wiktor Gorka in 1973.
For many reasons, I always liked this poster. But getting the original I discovered additional element. The black background behind the title, Kabaret is extending in a point and becoming a comic balloon coming out of the mouth of the emcee.

"Diably z Loudun" by Roman Cieslewicz
I recently acquired this striking and very unusual poster for a theater play, Diably z Loudun (Devil in London). The poster was designed by one of the most known Polish designers, Roman Cieslewicz in 1974.
I already had a copy of this once, but few years ago, with additional 5 pieces from Roman, I donated them to The MoMA and now they are in their collection.

"Bank of Symbols" posters
I recently acquired these 2 posters/catalogues. They were created for the show, Bank of Symbols in 1984 and were designed by Rajka Milović. The show was quite unusual for that time, featuring contemporary Serbian logos from 1960s to early 1980s. On the back of each poster, is a list of credits about the logos on the front. Only 200 copies were printed.
Lenin in the poster
Sometimes
in the work of East European artists, especially from the Communist
era, it is very hard to know if they are true believers or they are just
sarcastic. This movie poster is a good example.
This poster is created for Yugoslav market, by Bole Miloradovic in 1967 and is designed for the award winning (at Cannes festival 1966) Russian-Polish movie titled, Lenin in Poland.

Update of "The Design of Dissent" show at Casa del Lago
Earlier, I posted an announcement along with photographs, about the opening of The Design of Dissent at Casa del Lago in Mexico City. Unfortunately, the photographs of the show were taken during the week and therefore, did not represent the bustling nature of the park. Casa del Lago is located in the Chapultepec park, which is a traditional Sunday walk area for the citizens of Mexico City. The place gets packed with people and vendors, and looks completely different to the images on my original post.
The show was organized by Centro University and the cultural center, Casa del Lago.

"Star Hawks" by Gil Kane
I acquired this Star Hawks comic strip from 1980, created by Gil Kane.
The art is created using markers and is drawn, either over a light box, because it is drawn on relatively thin Bristol paper, or with barely any pencil drawing.
