"Welcome to Koshu Prison" by Kanzaki Junji

My recent acquisitions: splash tile page and second page from Welcome to Koshu Prison from the Yakuza manga series, drawn by Kanzaki Junji in 1992.

I have quite a few originals from this manga series now. I am fascinated with how this artist is not afraid of using big empty spaces, like this coat, and at the same time, how interestingly he shows the dynamics on the page too
.

Poster Design for the Play "Fires"

Latin and Cyrillic versions of my poster design for the play Fires for JDP-Yugoslav Drama Theater in Belgrade, Serbia.

The play is based on the novel Feux (Fires) by the French writer Marguerite Yourcenar. The book consists of nine monologues and narratives based on classical Greek stories. Antigone, Clytemnestra, Phaedo, and Sappho are all mythical figures whose stories are mingled with contemporary themes. It consists of aphorisms, prose poetry and fragmentary diary entries alluding to a love story. Interspersed are highly personal narratives, reflecting on a time of profound inner crisis in the author's life. The unwritten novel among the fantasies and aphorisms of Fires is a classic tale.

"Janez's Revenge, Catacombs" by Guido Moroni-Celsi

My recent acquisition is this exquisite comic original of "Janez's Revenge, Catacombs" by Guido Moroni-Celsi (1885 - 1962), published by Topolino Giornale, Helicon-Milano-Italy in 1940.

Guido Moroni-Celsi died in utter obscurity, but he was later recognized as one of "the fathers of the Italian adventure strip".

One more "Modesty Blaise" in my pocket

I just acquired this Modesty Blaise comic strip by Jim Holdaway from 1965.
I was lucky because I acquired the previous strip a few years ago, so now I have two consequential strips from the same episode.

Here, here, here, here, and here, are the links to my other original Modesty Blaise strips by Jim Holdaway.

Poster for "The Coast Starlight"

My poster Illustration for the play The Coast Starlight by Keith Bunin, directed by Tyne Rafaeli in production at Lincoln Center Theater.

The poster design and art are directed by Nicky Lindeman of SpotCo.

"In Keith Bunin's new play, a young man armed with a secret that can land him in terrible trouble boards The Coast Starlight, the long-distance train that runs from Los Angeles to Seattle. With the help of his fellow travellers, all of whom are reckoning with their own choices, he has roughly one thousand miles to figure out a way forward. The Coast Starlight is a smart, funny, and compassionate story about our capacity for invention and re-invention when life goes off the rails."
