Design for The Festival Miroslav Krleža

To announce the "12th Festival Miroslav Krleža", the festival posted posters and billboards throughout the city of Zagreb, Croatia. I created this design two years ago for the "10th Festival Miroslav Krleža". The design was quite successful, so instead of assigning a new design every year, the festival decided to make this their permanent identity. 

Miroslav Krleža (1893-1981) was the most celebrated Croatian writer. I created characteristic Krleža’s profile out of all incarnations of Croatian flags during his lifetime. One of his most famous novels is titled "Zastave" (The Flags).

"Bank of Symbols" posters

I recently acquired these 2 posters/catalogues. They were created for the show, Bank of Symbols in 1984 and were designed by Rajka Milović. The show was quite unusual for that time, featuring contemporary Serbian logos from 1960s to early 1980s. On the back of each poster, is a list of credits about the logos on the front. Only 200 copies were printed.

The Second Before the Catastrophe

The first announcements, of my solo show The Second Before the Catastrophe at the Lazareti gallery in Dubrovnik, Croatia. The show is opening on August 17th.

The show will include my comics, illustrations and designs and is curated by Marko Golub and Dejan Krsic. The show was made possible by the hard working efforts of the Artistic Programme Director of the Lazareti, Pero Mrnarević and Denise Benmosche.

Milton Glaser's Grand Union

Many designers know that Milton Glaser designed the Grand Union super store logo and the famous pear sculpture in front of them (1975). But not many know that he also designed thousands of packaging for Grand Union over 20 years. Even less designers know that he actually designed super markets, some of them being more than 100,000 sq. ft. He revolutionized the interior design of supermarkets and the consumer experience.

A few years ago he threw away one half of a broken and beat up architectural model of a Grand Union. The other half disappeared many years before that.I took it out of the garbage, along with all the parts I was able to find. 

Finally, I finished the ''restoration'' this weekend. So here it is together with the pear in the front! 

To help you understand the model better, the entrance is on the ground level and the market itself is below ground. 

Tolerance Project Inc. Logo by Milton Glaser

As you are probably aware for last two years I have been organizing the traveling Tolerance Poster Show. In two years there have been 42  exhibitions of the show within 22 countries. So far the show has been visited by over 20,000 people. Now I decided to become little be more legitimate and established Tolerance Project Inc. a non profit organization.

As with every decent organization, I needed to have logo. Knowing how troubling it is to design a logo for your own company I decided to pass that burden to somebody else. I asked Milton Glaser to design the logo for me.

Auschwitz Institute for Peace and Reconciliation Logo

I was extremely proud to see that logos which one I design for the Auschwitz Institute for Peace and Reconciliation are used in the education room inside Auschwitz camp. Whenever I remember that moment, I still get goosebumps.

Theater Posters and a Banner

Graphis Logo/Letterhead 9.

We just received the new Graphis Logo/Letterhead 9 book and it seems like we not only received a book but also received two gold and two silver medals (sounds better than it is).
