Delmonico's Opening Bell Ceremony at NYSE

I was pleased to be invited to redesign Delmonico's old wordmark and create its new logo. Delmonico's is recognized as the first fine dining restaurant United States, established in 1837. Among the many well-known patrons of Delmonico's were Theodore Roosevelt, Chester Arthur, Mark Twain, Arthur Sullivan, Lillian Russell, Charles Dickens, Oscar Wilde, J.P. Morgan, James Gordon Bennett, Jr., Nikola Tesla, Edward VII, and Napoleon III of France.

To celebrate the restaurant's reopening today on August 11th, 2023, The New York Stock Exchange held Delmonico's opening bell ceremony and decorated the front and inside of their building with Delmonico's wordmark and logo.

A Poster for All Seasons

In the fall of 2019, I started to design posters for JDP-Yugoslav Drama Theater. Currently, this is the fifth season in designing posters for them. When I started in the fall of 2019, I made the decision to make my life more complicated than needed. I decided to design each season in different styles/with different looks. The only thing that will stay the same is the typeface TyponineSans Pro designed by Nikola Djurek. I chose this typeface not only because of its beauty and legibility, but also it is one of the few typefaces that have both Latin and Cyrillic versions.

The fifth season is not over yet, but here below you can see all the posters I have designed so far. Unfortunately, as you can see, the third season was interrupted by Covid-19, and that's why 2 posters are missing.

You can see more about my JDP poster designs here.

Child Superhero Logo

The organization Moje mjesto pod suncem (My Place Under the Sun) originated in Rijeka, Croatia. Their program's primary goal is to provide children below the poverty line with activities that will enable them to grow and develop based on their abilities rather than on the severe social context surrounding them. They offer these kids quality extra-institutional education in the hope that it will boost their self-esteem and self-reflection, and help them realize their full potential.

When I was asked to volunteer my services and create a logo for My Place Under the Sun, I decided to create something child friendly, also something empowering, that is why I decide to create this image of child as super hero.

Recently, the organization started the fundraising drive. People started to post on their social media, not only the donation telephone number 060 80 20 25 and bank number of the campaign HR 1924020061500087226 where one can donate money, but also they started to draw their own versions of child superhero logo.

Beogradska trilogija (Belgrade Trilogy) Poster

Design of the poster for Yugoslav Drama Theater in Belgrade in Serbia production of Beogradska trilogija (Belgrade Trilogy) by Biljana Srbljanović.

Belgrade Trilogy, dark comedy, set in Sydney, Los Angeles and Prague on New Year's Eve, the play shows snapshots from everyday life of young people who fled abroad to escape the Balkan war and the choices they face as they attempt to build a new life for themselves as exiles.

For the image on the poster, I use a major symbol of Belgrade, Pobednik (The Victor) monument by Ivan Meštrović. The image is positioned upside down, because that is how it is seen from the other side of the globe, and it is printed in three not perfectly aligned colours.

Pucina (Offing) Poster

This is the poster I designed for Yugoslav Drama Theater in Belgrade, Serbia's production of Pucina (Offing).

The play was writen in 1902 by Branislav Nušić, Serbian playwright, satirist, essayist, novelist. In the play Jovanka, the wife of the official Vladimir Nedeljković, becomes the mistress of a minister in the desire to create a career for her husband, and thus, to ensure a high civic reputation for her family. Thanks to that, Vladimir progresses and becomes a senior official, but he soon learns that his wife is not faithful to him, just as he learns and is aware of the fact that he progressed thanks to his wife's love affair.
