African Network for Genocide and Mass Atrocity Prevention

We just designed a logo for The Auschwitz Institute for Peace and Reconciliation for the newly created African Network for Genocide and Mass Atrocity Prevention. 

In the past we've created logos for similar initiatives, such as the Latin American Network for Genocide Prevention.

This has been part of a long relationship with the institute. We have also created a logo for the Raphael Lemkin (who coined the term "genocide") Center.

We also created the logo for The Auschwitz Institute itself.

Mirko Ilic Corp. is very proud to be listed alongside prominent institutions such as the United Nations, German Federal Government, amongst others as partners of the Auschwitz Institute.

Most Influential Designers

Congratulations to Milton Glaser for being named the Most Influential Designer of the Past 50 Years by GDUSA. I am also honored to be included in this list.

Discussing Dissent

Very rarely does one have the chance to share the stage with three of his heroes. I was lucky enough to do so in 2005.

I recently came across this photo of one of the opening festivities for "The Design of Dissent" 

an exhibition at SVA running in conjunction with the publication of The Design of Dissent: Socially and Politically Driven Graphics (Rockport Press, Inc.). There was a roundtable discussion with playwright Tony Kushner (Angels in America, Lincoln), activist Gloria Steinem (Co-founder of Ms. magazine), designer Milton Glaser (I ♥ NY), and me.

Golden Bee

 The 10th Moscow Global Biennale of Graphic Design "Golden Bee" included my poster, "Design, Money, and..." in this year's show and book. The poster was created for my lecture at AIGA Dallas, Fort Worth.

Rainbow Billboard

This month I was invited by Udruga KVART to create a billboard on the highway between Split and Imotski in Croatia. The goal of this monthly billboard project is to commission different artists and designers to comment on the relationship between urban cities and their rural neighbors. At the end of every year this project culminates in a calendar publication.

I decided to create a billboard with a rainbow and quote from the Bible: "God said to Noah, 'This [rainbow] is the sign of the covenant that I have established between me and all flesh that is on the earth.'" Genesis 9:12-17
